Powell, David and Melanie

David and Melanie Powell - US/Germany

David was born in Texas and lived on a farm until his father became a pastor and CEF Director. As a young believer, he was a volunteer at the CEF home office and met Melanie while she and his parents attended CEF's leadership training. Melanie, born in St. Petersburg, accepted Christ early, graduated from Northside Christian School and taught at NCS after college.

David and Melanie married and completed CEF's Institute and internship requirements. They ministered with CEF in Columbia, SC while David attended Columbia Bible College. They have been involved in camp ministries and short-term, overseas missions trips. They arrived in Germany in 1993.

The Powells are directing the establishments of Children's ministries on military bases in the US. They travel to many different installations to set up Bible Clubs for the children, help the AWANA programs get established, and find leaders who will lead on that base. Military life is always changing...David and Melanie devote their lives to share God's never-changing love with those who serve and their children.

While they served in Germany, David began ministering with Cadence International under the ministries of Malachi Youth. After several years of partnering with Cadence, David and Melanie established a joint venture with CEF and Cadence International called Malachi Children's Ministry. David is the director of ministries for Malachi Children's Ministry. In addition to ministering to the children of the military, David is now developing MCM, recruiting for future missionaries to the military, and setting up programs to be conducted in Europe, Asia, and the Untied States.
