Chris and Saria Marantika - Indonesia

Chris spent his childhood on the six-mile long Indonesian island where he was born. At age 12 he left his parents to seek education, and his path brought him in contact with missionaries who told him of Christ.

The Lord also guided a little Muslim girl to jog past a church under construction and in her curiosity she asked what it was going to be. As a result, Sarai met the missionaries who led her to Christ. She was then led to the church where God eventually brought Chris to minister.

After serving as a pastor for several years, Chris and Saria came to the States, where he earned his master's degree and doctorate in theology.

They returned to Indonesia to begin the Evangelical Theological Seminary of Indonesia. There are now five locations for the ETSI with 2,500 graduates.
