Joe and Elaine Henry - Chiang Mai, Thailand

After Joe and Elaine graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in the 1980s, Joe spent 15 years working in radio and newspapers while Elaine taught in both public and private schools before they felt the Lord's call to missions. After Joe took a year of Bible courses, they left for their first term of service in Northern Philippines.

While serving in the Philippines helping translators publish Scripture, the Henrys felt the Lord was asking them to work more closely with nationals in church-planting.

While home on furlough they spent the year working on additional training and are now serving in Chiang Mai ... a city of 1 million people located near the northern border of Thailand. Most people in that region are Buddhist.

They serve with an international team of six other couples to:

• Share their lives in Christ,

• To disciple new believers, and

• To train national leaders.
