Steve and Sharon were both born to missionary families serving with the Africa Inland Mission. They met at a missionary children's school in Kenya and began dating. After completing college and a four-year "break-up," God brought them independently back to serve as single missionaries in Kenya. During this time they became engaged and later married.

After completing graduate school, Steve and Sharon felt God leading them to minister among an unreached people group in Northern Mozambique. Steve has a sports ministry, combining soccer with Bible teaching to the youth. Sharon does much right out of the home including taking care of and teaching their own children, visiting, and providing a sewing ministry to the neighborhood women.

In addition, both Steve and Sharon are involved in the small town church through a Sunday School teaching program, encouragement to the missions program, and regular preaching.
