Steve and Becky Cochrane - Mali, West, Africa

Although Steve and Becky grew up on opposite sides of the globe, God brought them together in college, having prepared their hearts in advance for missionary work. Steve was the son of missionaries who served in Chad, Africa, and Becky grew up in upstate New York.

After their marriage, God led them to take a full-time staffing position at a Christian camp in Texas. The camping experience provided much practical training that would be useful on the mission field. After three years at this camp, the Cochranes moved to Birmingham, Alabama to complete Bible degrees. It was here that they felt called to work in Mali.

The Cochranes have completed three years preparing for ministry in Mali. Part of this preparation has been one and a half years in France learning the French language and ministering to the the local church with the youth programs.

The Cochranes are now in Mali to yet learn another language. In addition to language study, they are involved in cultural and ministry orientation, encouragement to the local church, conferences, team planning, maintenance, and home schooling.
