Our 2007 team to India returned and we were reminded once again of why Northside is in partnership with the Hindustan Bible Institute and Dr. Bobby and Linnet Gupta. Consider the numbers for this year's trip. We ministered in two locations--Chennai in the south and Nagpur in the north; through 5 key ministries--schools and orphanages, training for people preparing for ministry, medical clinics and training, church services and ministries, and training for those already in ministry; by 10 people on our team; during 13 days in India; and ministering to over 8,600 people.

With HBI there are always exciting and challenging ministry opportunities. No matter who you are or how God has made you, there is a place for you to serve in fruitfulness and fulfillment with HBI. For most of our team, this was their first trip to India but they fit right in and were able to accomplish a lot of ministry with the people from HBI.

Our school team ministered through drama, song and devotional to share the story of Jesus the Great Healer in 15 different schools and 2 children's homes. Our medical team was able to minister to over 150 people in 2 medical camps. Our teaching teams were able to train nurses, youth leaders, Sunday school teachers, women in churches and pastors through 8 different training modules. Our whole team was able to minister in 5 different churches through song, sermon and testimonies.

One of the great highlights of this trip was for our team to be at the dedication of a village church, and not just any village church, but a church whose building was paid for by memorial gifts given in remembrance of our own Fran Pierce. Fran and Ernie have helped see several church buildings built over the years. On Sunday, August 5th, Ernie was on hand when the church was dedicated to the service of the Lord and in memory of his dear wife. What a difficult but great day as Fran's heart for Missions and God's work continues on in such a practical way.
